#THE PRELUDE
Today mark the end of vicious political fukishikism in Lagos State University Students' Union politics, as students came enmass to elect leaders of their choices who will pilot the affairs of the school for the next one year-2015/2016 academic session.
#THE ELECTION
After a prolonged horse trading, serial postponements of the election and blackmails from each camp of the divide, the political strength and popularity of each candidates have been vigorously tested. Consequently, winners and runner-ups emerged.
Ironically, the least expected candidates in the worst case scenario have won, probably not on the basis of their historical alutarism or unionistic experience, but by sheer providence which many would interpret as "sympathy votes".

At present, Comrade Tayour, the president-elect has greatly profited from the ERUDITE-BHF war of attrition which Ironically worked against the duo, else the Shift of Power from the celebrated "Faculty of law to Faculty of Social Sciences (FSS)".
God has chosen, of which no court of law can invalidate it. Not even LASUSU COURT OF LAW! The students have chosen! therefore, a lesson has to been learnt this time by all up coming students politicians.

Two years ago (2013/2014) session, a similar scenario disappointedly worked against the candidacy of comrades AIT (the then seating president) and DADDY FISH both from Faculty of Science; from which Comrade OPTIMIST (whom many would say came from obscurity to rise to power.

A year later, (2014/2015) session, similar incidence was replicated at Faculty of LAW between Comrades AWO and A'WHY by which time, Comrade KODOH (from Faculty of Science) stood the chance of benefiting from a divided house but somehow, I, "Comrade Embassy" (as the then Chairman of "AWO Campaign Team" with a team of seasoned "Students politicians" and we'll meaning supporters and sympathizers were privileged by God to deliver victory for AWO in the institution's first ever historic election which was hotly contested.
#REFERENCE & ANALYSIS (iv)
Here we come once again for the instant academic session (2015 /2016), two Presidential candidates both from the LASU-LAWS: Comrades ERUDITE and BHF, like in the case of the then "DADDY FISH and AIT" weren't favored by the choices made by LASUITES today 23rd, February 2016, else, the emergence of Comrade TAYOUR.
That's the Irony of Victory!
However, in Faculty of Arts, Comrades TOBA and ENIAFE also lost out to an FMS' CANDIDATE in the person of JUWON. At the period of last year LASUSU election 2014/2015 session, OBA DAUDU and his peer contested for Welfare Director , both from Faculty of Management Sciences (FMS) and lost.
#OBSERVATION & ADVICE
It seems to me therefore that Comrade-President AWO is perhaps the only (known) person to have successfully won election into key office in LASUSU politics in a situation of divided-house and it's time to begin to put things right. Perhaps, more acceptable analysis may suffice in in due course of time. That again is the Irony of Victory!
All these makes the game of campus politics interesting and if you have never practiced it, you maybe missing a lot.
On a final note, I say congratulations to all who participated in the elections for their courage and doggedness.
Know this:"those that won doesn't necessarily worked harder than those who lost, rather, they should see their victory as devine favor from God". And my candid advice is that the winners have a to tap from their runner-ups if they are determined to provide credible and qualitative leadership to the students populace. Congratulations to the cabinet-in-waiting.
